Monday - Orientation, boring. Some interesting stuff, got out at 5:30, but mainly boring.

Tuesday - Didn't have to be there till 10:30. Love it! Computer training for 2 hours. Awful. I should've taught the class. Trained with girl in the Troy office for 2 hours. Fun. Went shopping with $400 donation money for Toys for Tots. Fun. Off at 3:30. Fantastic!

Wednesday - Don't start till 9:30. Happy times.

So far, my job is fantastic! Tomorrow I actually get to see my desk. Exciting!

The best part, they run Microsoft Office XP Pro! WOW!

Does anyone know how long after having your wisdom teeth out can you start eating real food?

I don't want to look like a complete ninny when I'm eating lunch at my new job on Monday, and everyone pulls out their salads and wraps and sandwiches, and I pull out my Gerber Step 2 Apple Strawberry Banana.

I'll tell you what sucks. What sucks is that I went to the dentist for a routine 6 month cleaning, and when I walked out, I had an appointment for tomorrow to get my wisdom teeth pulled.

MY WISDOM TEETH.

PULLED.

OUT.

EXTRACTED.

And I don't get knocked out either. No siree bob.

Local anesthetic, and if I need it, some nitrous oxide.

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In March I farted in an elevator (-6 points). Last week I ruled Duluth, Minnesota as a kind and benevolent dictator (700 points). In August I committed genocide... Sorry about that, psyko7145 (-5000 points). Last Saturday I gave mankindversusme a wet willie, then I took it back (-5 points). In June julweg and I donated clothes to the needy (11 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-4300 points). For Christmas I deserve a lump of coal!

5 Weird Habits

Ground rules: The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "Five Weird Habits of Yourself" and the people who get tagged need to then write a LJ entry about their five quirky little habits as well as state the rules of this game clearly. In the end, you need to list the next five people who you want to tag.

1.)I TiVo Oprah and Jay Leno every day and I never watch them. I think I do it just because I can, and if I ever find out that I missed something, then I can go back and watch it, but I never do. And weirder still, I hate Oprah. Hmph, go figure.

2.) I sleep with a blanket that I've had since before I was born. It was a present at my baby shower. I feel like I don't sleep well if I don't have it. And yes I get made fun of to this day by my mother.

3.) When eating, if there are different kinds of food on my plate (for instance, mashed potatoes, chicken, corn) I will eat all of one food first, and then move on to the next food. Only in very recent years have I been able to break this, but the majority of the time, I still hold to this habit.

4.) My mom thinks this is weird, but I don't, so I'm listing it anyway. I brush my teeth before I get into the shower every morning. Like, as my shower is warmning up, I'm brushing. Weird? I don't think so.

5.) Apparently, so I've been told, I grunt when I'm sleeping, and sometimes when I eat. I have never heard these things happen, but that's what I have been told. Whatever.

Dilemma

I have a dilemma.

I may be offered a job, but it's 42 miles (45 mins to an hour) away from my house.

It's a good job, lots of fun, challenging (finally), great people, fantastic company.

Don't know the pay yet, but should be close to $6k more than what I'm making now, which really isn't a whole lot of bones to begin with.

I've heard the benefits are great, I just don't know what they are yet.

I'll get discounted ticketmaster tickets, and possibly free Pistons tickets.

Sweet company parties, a few throughout the year.

But's it's far. And if I were to take it, I would probably move in with a friend, making it 29 miles away.

What do I even do?

My best friend's brother was shot in a drive by in Saginaw last night. He was visiting a friend who is a DJ at a bar. 6 shots were fired, but he was the only one who was hit, in the chest (below his heart) and in his leg, and another bullet grazed his cheek. The gun shot exited out his back. He's losing a lot of blood and should be in surgery right now.

His name is Andy, and he's 22. Please pray for him in this desperate time. I know that your prayers are powerful and God is able.

He's doing better now. He will be having exploratory surgery Wed morning to repair his diaphram and stomach.

Christmas

Christmas is always a difficult time for me. There's the whole issue with Tom buying presents for my family, and them buying presents for him, and it just being awkward and turning into "buying a present just to give the other person something."

In general, I just hate what Christmas has turned into. If you're not excited, genuinely excited, about giving a person a Christmas present, then I don't think you should have to. If it feels like a chore, or you're like, "what do I do, what do I buy??" then there shouldn't be that obligation.

Christmas isn't about obligation. It's about love and respect. Why did the wise men bring Jesus presents? Because they wanted to love and respect and honor him. (All you pastoral types, correct me if I'm wrong please). So those should be the sentiments in our gift giving.

The moral of this post is:
I'm just wondering if there are any family type things that you do instead of giving gifts? Like, special dinner, a trip somewhere, special tradition? I would like to start something new.

ARGH!!!!

I can't stand the constant yelling that I am subject to at work. I hire for 150 loan centers. Which means there are 150 loan center managers who could be yelling at me at any one time. On top of the 24 people who work in the home lending dept, bringing the total to 174. Then, add in the 8 people in my dept with authorization to yell at me, and we have it at 182. And that's just a rough estimate, because I'm SURE there are more people who have the authority to yell at me, like the people who work in those 150 branches.

Well, today my friends, they have reached their quota with me. I am up to approx. 10 people who have yelled at me. IT'S ONLY 1:23! What the heck, that is what I would like to know, what the heck.

To solve this problem, I have been on a rampant "find a new job" rage. I have an interview tomorrow, and another one next week. Something has to come through and come through fast, because I'm running out of excuses as to why I need time off here and there, and I really don't want to be driving all over the Detroit Metro area for NO REASON. That would increase my chances of being an unhappy camper.

The worst part is, my job has been getting in the way of me getting a new job, due to finding excuses to take time off, and with the way things have been going lately, I'm about ready to get rid of that obstacle, which obviously is never a good idea. Add to that the looming layoffs, hiring freeze, and no performance increases this year, and I'm 'bout ready to jump out that door.
